Massage/Reiki

Gentle and Sensitive Therapeutic Massage:
When administered consciously and skillfully, touch has enormous power to ease discomfort, relax the body, calm the mind and lift the spirit.  It offers reassurance and support to those who are anxious and troubled. It helps restore a sense of worth and value to those who are frail of body and mind. Medical research has shown that the benefits of massage include pain relief, reduced trait anxiety and depression, and temporarily reduced blood pressure.

As a Massage Therapist in Hospice, I have had so many wonderful experiences with the patients and their families. I feel so blessed to have known these wonderful people and especially during this time in their life, to help bring them a little bit of peace and comfort. I am so grateful for this in my life!

Merry Clark, Breema Therapist, Reiki and Massage Therapy

One of my first clients was in end-stage bone cancer. His devoted girlfriend kept him clean and fed his body, fed his soul. She sought out someone who could help and called hospice. I came in about 2 months before he made his 'celestial departure' (as they say at Children's Hospital) as his Breema therapist. Towards the end, he would call me and ask me to come over as the morphine couldn't dull all the pain, and sleep was difficult. I would always assure him that I'd be right over to put my hands on him, and he would fall asleep right away, knowing that gentle touch therapy was on its way. He benefited greatly from others' modalities; also music and art therapies.
